One of the finest finishes on a belt, hand hitched horse hair is known for its true quality and craftsmanship. Amazing quality and feel, heat pressed Alligator tips, sewn for years of durability. The craft of hitching into colorful bridles and belts flourished in the prisons of 12 western states from about 1885 through the 1920s. One wonders if the term “doing a hitch” was related to this inmate activity. This is a dying art with only one or two prisons filling our orders now.
These belts take 6 months to year to make, I do my best to keep stock. I have a size run from 32 to 38 in most styles and just added a new colorway of blue/navy with blue gator tips.
